BCA is a three years Bachelor of Computer Application course with every year covering two semesters with each semester of six months. The course aimed to provide the insights of computer programming skills with every aspect of computer and its applications. For a BCA aspirant, this degree would help in setting up a sound academic base for an advanced career in Computer Applications. Any student who has passed 10+2 from a recognized Board with minimum 55% marks is eligible to apply for BCA. The course curriculum of BCA is industry oriented with wide range of possibilities and opportunities where you learn exactly what market demands. The subjects offered vary from very basic to core programming languages like programming skills in C, C++, Java, Python programming, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, Database Management System etc. This course provides the required skills and enable the students to get themselves employed in different sectors. After the successful completion of BCA, a student will be able to choose from numerous career options in various fields like Software development, Banks, Education, Government departments etc.
As we can see all around us, concomitant to the huge and accelerated growth of the internet, digital media channels like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. have now come up strong as one of the new communication channels that enable personal interaction in a big way. So it is that, computer and mobile applications have played an active role in the digital evolution, especially in the recent years.
If we observe closely, all these applications like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. have been made possible largely due to coding and programming, which is the language of computers and the digital world.
And, one of the best ways of learning this language is by enrolling yourself in a full time Bachelor of Computer Application or BCA course, in which students are taught about the coding language in detail. Thus, students who opt for this course get to learn skills and information not only about computer and information technology but also in communication, organization and management.
For those who choose to directly explore job opportunities after completing their undergraduate degree, BCA is a skill-oriented course and thus getting a job is comparatively easier for graduates as compared to purely academic courses like BSc or BCom. There are lucrative career opportunities in the private and public sector for BCA graduates
